Kathleen’s Story
It comes as no surprise that Kathleen loves working with people. Growing up in Queens, New York, Kathleen was surrounded by interesting and lively individuals!
Kathleen is trained through various coaching models, Harvard Mediation Program, Mediation Works, Inc., Mediators without Borders, Foundations of Organizational Ombudsman Practice, NonViolent Communication, Global Youth Courts and Empathy Circles. She holds an M.Ed. in Special Education, K-5 and 5-12 from Lesley University, and a B.A. in Political Science from Boston College.
Kathleen celebrates the transformative power of coaching and facilitated dialogue. She integrates a variety of coaching methods, light Shadow work and use of The Tools into her approach. She supports clients to feel heard, identify new approaches, surmount obstacles, observe and change thought patterns, and reach goals. She can’t imagine a better job than that!
Kathleen is also passionate about wellbeing in schools. She is the Founder of The Cultivating Happier Schools Project. As a coach for Robin, she collaborates to strengthen the emotional, social and mental health of school communities. Prior to this, she designed and managed the General Education Alternative Dispute Resolution Office for the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Kathleen worked for twenty-five years in public, private and special education settings and served on the Management Leadership Team at a startup Middle School. She initiated and chaired Mindfulness and Wellness Committees.
Continuously engaged in education and training, Kathleen is the Founder of Aurora Lights Coaching. Her fun rescue dog, Norman, lets her work as long as he gets enough treats!
